Yellingbo Nature Conservation Reserve is a 4.6km² nature reserve located 50km east of Melbourne near Yellingbo. The last wild colonies of a critically endangered bird, the Helmeted Honeyeater, are found in the area, and the conservation and protection of their habitats are the main goal of the reserve.
Other significant species present in the reserve are Leadbeater’s Possum, the Platypus, Powerful Owl and Southern Pigmy Perch.
The aim for the day is to plant a range of native species that will improve the habitat of the area for all it's inhabitants!
