Wireless Hill Park boasts a wide variety of wildflowers, native plants,[30] birds and reptiles and is a registered Bush Forever site. Wireless Hill has been a place of communication for thousands of years. Previously used by the Noongar Beeliar Aboriginal people as a lookout and a place to send smoke signals, Wireless Hill became the site of Applecross Wireless Station in 1912. This large bush and parkland reserve is now a popular place for bushwalkers to spot wildflowers and find some serenity within the suburbs.
Join us for the day as we help the City of Melville tackle some invasive weeds species at this beautiful bushland reserves. We will be targeting veldt grass and cruciferous weeds that are threatening the biological diversity in these areas. We hope to remove the seed bank of these noxious plants before they become established and can cause more harm the beautiful wildflowers found here.
