There are many great locations to volunteer in the Portland area two of our latest environmental projects are Point Danger and Fitzroy river.
Point Danger Heathland is a rare vegetation community under threat from aggressive weed competition. The site is spectacular, overlooking the southern ocean, home to Australia's only mainland gannet colony and a rich diverse heathland community.
The Fitzroy River project is conducting restoration activities on remnant and indigenous revegetation on the banks of the beautiful Fitzroy river. There is range of aggressive weeds to be controlled as well as new plantings to reinforce existing remnant vegetation.
