Get to know the Quarantine Station.
Built in 1915, from an earlier quarantine station at West Point, Magnetic Island, these beautiful Queenslander style timber buildings have an interesting history. The area is part of the greater Townsville Town Common Conservation Park, and a hidden regional gem.
Come and enjoy the North Queensland weather, get connected with nature and explore the old Quarantine Station and surrounding scrub with bush tucker and military ruins.
Visit the static museum, learn how ship passengers were segregated and fumigated, walk through the many old buildings, and view the graves of those that died here.
