Every year, New Zealanders send around 2.5 million tonnes of waste to the landfill—more than a tonne per household. Every month, we create a national rubbish pile that, if heaped on a rugby field, would tower 30 storeys high...Sadly, a lot of this litter ends up on our streets and in public reserves where it may be washed into drains and out to sea where it can harm both people and wildlife.
Join us for a day cleaning up the reserve above the Terrace Tunnel and be a tidy kiwi!
What to wear/bring: sturdy boots, long sleeves and pants, a hat/beanie, a drink bottle and some food.
What we provide: gloves, tools, high-vis vests, an experienced team leader, training. Get in touch to book a free pick-up from Wellington cbd.
