This bold project on the Te Matuku Peninsula at the south end of Waiheke Island aims to control pest animals (rats and stoats) over a large area of land. A comprehensive network of trap/bait lines has been in place for several years and pest numbers have dropped dramatically. To maintain this low level of pest abundance it is critical that the work continues.
This week the team will be navigating their way around some of the baitlines, refilling stations with bait.
We'd love to have your help.
