We're helping the students of Samuel Marsden Collegiate School to restore the awa that runs through their school. The students have been observing the longfin eels living in the stream and learning about the eels lifecycle as well as threats to their survival. In an effort to protect our nationally vulnerable longfin eel, the students have put together their own restoration plan to restore the river.
We provide: an experienced team leader, tools, gloves, health and safety management and training. Free transport available - get in touch to book a seat as places are limited!
What to wear/bring: sturdy boots, long sleeves and pants, a hat/beanie, waterproof jacket, water bottle and food.
So get outside this winter and join our tamariki in protecting the longfin eel!
