In the words of Dr Alistair Richardson: "I love a good saltmarsh, and they certainly need friends". You can become a saltmarsh friend by being involved in bird and plant surveys of Tamar River Estuary saltmarshes. The surveying normally takes 1-2 hours so we may also do some weed management (sea-spurge) after the surveys. The start time for each day varies depending on tides, so check details for each specific project and note that surveying may require moderate walks through muddy areas. What to wear: Long pants and long sleeved shirt Sturdy, enclosed shoes. Gumboots if you can but we can provide some. What to bring: Morning tea, lunch and bottle of water Broad brimmed hat and wet weather gear (if needed) What is provided: Tools and safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, sunscreen etc Tea, Coffee and Biscuits are provided each day Pick up and drop off as detailed above Bookings are required: click "Book Now" or for more information contact our Launceston office on (03) 6334 9985 or launceston@cva.org.au
