This project is part of our Wild Futures Swift Parrot program. Maria Island has known habitat for this vulnerable species. Volunteers will catch the ferry to the island on Wednesday and spend their time on the island collecting white gum seed for planting next season as well as planting. These activities will help to ensure the habitat for the Swifty is protected and increased for future years.
A great opportunity to explore one of Tassie's great islands while helping a threatened species. Accommodation will be basic but comfortable.
