Come join us for an afternoon of beach clean-up and sand dune rehabilitation activities at Congwong Beach.The area is a place of significance for traditional land owners the Gweagal and Kameygal with important cultural sites located within the park. A beautiful part of Botany Bay, favoured by scuba divers, snorkelers, families, travellers and residents alike. Sand dunes are vital in protecting the coast line. Not only do they provide a suitable habitat to many species, they act as a buffer against significant weather events.
MEETING LOCATION:
1.30pm Cann Park, 1532R Anzac Parade, La Perouse NSW 2036.
Park in the car parks along Anzac Parade next to Cann Park or get the public bus. Meet in Cann Park at the entrance to Congwong Beach.
FINISH:
3.30pm at the project site.
Please wear sturdy shoes/boots, long pants, and long sleeve shirts. Hats, sunscreen, and water are a must.
If for any reason you cannot make it on the day or if you are going to be late or cannot find the meeting point, please contact your Team Leader.
