National Capital Authority needs our help to clean up a section of box gum grassy woodlands in the beautiful Stirling Park on the shores of Lake Bury Griffin. Box gum grassy woodlands are incredibly beautiful and rare vegetation communities and your assistance will help to maintain them for future generations. The section of the park where we will be also contains the highly endangered Button Wrinkle Wort.
By controlling the weeds there we will be helping native vegetation to flourish, which will improve the health of the park. We will also be picking up rubbish to stop it from washing into the lake or breaking down in the environment. Rubbish can kill birds or animals that accidentally eat it, especially fish and marine animals, so it is very important to dispose of it correctly.
Activities include:
- Weed Control
- Revegitation Maintanince
- Rubbish Collection
