Albert Park is a great icon of Melbourne’s parks and waterways. Many residents and city workers use it as a recreational space year round, but it also provides important habitat for many of the water birds in Melbourne. The park is a migratory home to significant bird species including the Great Egret, the White-
Throated Needletail and the Sacred Ibis. With over 5000 native and introduced trees and grasses in the park, this is what provides the homes for wildlife, but also providing beautiful scenery and shade for park users. With so many people using this space, conservation work in the park are extremely important to keep strong habitat connections and corridors for the fauna and bird life that exist in this area.
There will be a variety of activities that may include; mulching, rubbish collection, painting, graffiti removal and weeding.
