Pioneer Park is part of the Sorell Rivulet Catchment which flows into a Ramsar Wetland. As the rivulet runs through this southern community it collects debris and rubbish. There is a number of walking track facilities along its length which act as a great green space for locals and travellers passing through. The rivulet has been subjected to a number of invasive species that are threatening the native vegetation. Volunteers will participate in weed removal techniques to eradicate these species. They will also spend some time replanting areas with native grasses and small trees to improve and increase biodiversity in the area.
