Silversky track is a community built and maintained joint walking-biking track to the west of Wellington, running from the valley floor from Silverstream Rd up to Downing St and then on up to the Transpower service road, leading to the Skyline track. Silversky track offers extensive views in its upper reaches, while its lower reaches pass through a rare section of kohekohe forest. Silversky track was built 5 years ago and in its upper reaches, it is exposed to strong winds and rain, and is now in need of repair. This track has created access which has resulted in an extensive planting programme of native trees however preparation for next years tree planting is needed, and some trees need additional care.

Get involved in your local community and get stuck in to some rewarding conservation mahi!
