Joining with Bayside Council and NSW Ports, we are working to help revitalise Sir Joseph Banks Park, a very significant nature reserve on the Botany foreshore. It provides natural habitat for native flora and fauna species in northern Botany Bay. It is home to the endangered Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub and many other vulnerable native species. This area has been affected by serious environmental degradation in the past and we are here to give it a helping hand and to make it an incredible place to be for the local community, recreation, education and conservation awareness.
There’s lots to be done! Removing invasive species, maintenance of the walking trails, litter collection, mulching and site preparation for community planting events, planting of native species and even wildlife monitoring are just a few.
A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- Make sure you book your spot online.
- Please wear sturdy boots, long pants, long sleeve shirt & hat. Bring lunch, snacks and a water bottle.
- Dont worry, no previous experience is required. We will provide you with all the know-how on site.
- We can provide you with a certificate of appreciation for coming along and helping out
