Located approximately 25 kilometres south of Brisbane’s CBD, Daisy Hill Koala Bushland is a core koala habitat area in South East Queensland. At Daisy Hill, Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) works cooperatively with the Queensland Government to restore and monitor koala habitat. Part of the larger Bush land is Daisy Hill Conservation Park, a significant 571ha site which is comprised of open eucalypt and casuarina forest and provides important linking habitat for threatened species, including the koala and the glossy black cockatoo.

CVA works to establish habitat, remove invasive plants that obstruct animal movement and damage native vegetation, and identify plants requiring protection. The key habitat restoration activities that employees may assist with across the Bushland include weed removal, particularly from around koala habitat trees to ease access and mobility of the koala population, tree planting to increase Koala habitat connectivity and general maintenance of existing planted areas.
