Rangituhi/Colonial Knob is a 468m high hill rising to the west of Porirua with views on a clear day from the inland Kaikoura Range in the South to Mt. Taranaki in the North-West. Most of the original forest, rata and rimu, was logged although some mature trees survive in the Porirua Scenic Reserve. The forest today comprises mainly of kohekohe, tawatawa, mahoe and mapou.
Tasks completed here vary each week but may include invasive weed control and planting (winter only). Free transport options available from the following locations (bookings essential)
