For 20 plus years members of Kyogle Landcare, a grassroots organisation dedicated to looking after the natural environment, have done an amazing job helping to restore and maintain the beautiful patch of subtropical rainforest along the Fawcett’s Creek Walk. To help things along, the group will be partnering with Conservation Volunteers Australia throughout June and July to regenerate and restore areas of rainforest next to Fawcett’s Creek and we would love interested community members and volunteers to get involved. Activities will focus on the removal of invasive weeds, which if left unchecked would take over native plants and reduce habitat for local wildlife.
Educational walks and talks are also planned throughout the project where participants can learn how to identify the native plants that make the Fawcett’s Creek area so special, and admire the many magnificent specimen trees along the trail.
This is a great opportunity to learn about Kyogle's stunning natural environment, meet new people or become a member of the dynamic Kyogle Landcare group!
