Spend a day in the lovely native bush of the Secret Valley, used by students from Pukerua Bay School as an outdoor classroom. The Waimapihi Stream runs through the valley and provides habitat for many species of native ngohi/fish, tuna/eels, koura/freshwater crayfish as well as mokomoko/lizards and manu/birds. Summer is here so it's a great time to get outdoors and to reconnect with Papatuanuku! Get your hands dirty and get out in the fresh air, while helping to make this special space healthier and more vibrant for the tamariki and other native flora and fauna.
Activities may vary but are likely to be releasing/weeding the native plants as well as some litter collection.
We provide: an experienced team leader, tools, gloves, health and safety management and training. Transport to/from the project available.
What to wear/bring: sturdy boots, long sleeves and pants, a hat/beanie, waterproof jacket, a reuseable water bottle and lunch.
COVID-19 update - We will be following the advice from government and local council on all Covid-19 restrictions. If you have any concerns about Covid-19 procedures, please get in touch.
