The aim of this project is to create a greener and healthier environment in the Porirua area, as well as showcase how humans and nature can thrive in the same place. Activities include winter tree planting, rescuing young trees from invasive weeds in summer, and removing rubbish from local reserves. Porirua is blessed with a wide variety of ecosystems including wetlands, lowland rainforest, kohekohe/tawa/nikau rainforest, mudflats, rocky shores, estuaries, and regenerating forest.

More dates will be available in due time and we will confirm the locations closer to the days.

What to wear/bring: sturdy boots or gumboots, long sleeves and pants, waterproof jacket, a hat/beanie, a drink bottle and some food.

What we provide: gloves, tools, high-vis vests, health & safety briefings, an experienced team leader and training.
