The Ngaa Kaimanaaki o te Waimapihi - Polhill Restoration Group is a group of committed locals who've been working on the restoration of Polhill Reserve in Aro Valley/Brooklyn and adjacent to Zealandia. For the past few years, they've been working on a pest control project in the reserve which has met with great success and resulted in a large increase of birds radiating out of Zealandia and finding a safe haven in Polhill. Some of the native birds to keep an eye out for include tieke, toutouwai, hihi and kaka. This week we will be releasing the planting sites and cutting back broom to help expand the habitat for these native birds.

What to wear/bring: sturdy boots or gumboots, long sleeves and pants, waterproof jacket, a hat/beanie, a drink bottle and some food.

What we provide: gloves, tools, high-vis vests, health & safety briefings, an experienced team leader and training.

Free transport available from Wellington City - get in touch to book a seat as spaces are limited!
