Nau mai haere mai, you're invited to plant a forest at the heart of Wellington. This planting site in Churton Park is an extension of the Outer Green Belt – an area protected for nature that will wrap around the entire city (joins up with the main Town Belt). We have partnered with Rotary and Wellington City Council to restore the Town Belt by planting 65,000 native trees which will create a home for native birds, insects and reptiles. Our aim is to connect rangitahi, local residents, visitors and businesses to nature by creating a forest right at the heart of our city for people and wildlife to enjoy. We would love to have your help!
What to wear/bring: sturdy boots or gumboots, long sleeves and pants, a hat/beanie, a drink bottle and some food.
