Travelling Stock Reserves (TSRs) are an important part of our cultural and natural heritage.

TSRs provide pasture reserves for travelling or grazing stock. These reserves can be beneficial in times of drought, bushfire or flood. They are also used for public recreation, apiary sites and for conservation.

These parcels of land are balanced to strike a balance between the needs of travelling or grazing stock and the conservation of native species.

The vegetation on the TSR is White Box Yellow Box Blakely’s Red Gum Woodland, a listed ecological community both under state and commonwealth legislation. The land has been subject to the long term impacts of grazing and has been under further threat from invasive weeds.

To help look after the TSR we will be planting native trees and shrubs. This will provide food and habitat for native animals and birds, and will assist the regeneration of this important ecological community.
