Come along and help us care for our newly planted native trees at the Papatoetoe Pony Club! Once our trees have been put in the ground we need to care for them for another 3 - 5 years to ensure they have the best chance of survival. Strangling weeds and kikuyu grass can grow rapidly and smother young trees.
This is part of our Papakura Stream Restoration Project which aims to restore and protect stream banks and water quality, as well as habitat for native species, through fencing (with Future Posts – recycled plastic fence posts), planting native trees, water quality monitoring, and community engagement on both public and private land.
