Come along and help us care for our newly planted native trees! Once our trees have been put in the ground, we need to care for them for another 3 - 5 years to ensure they have the best chance of survival. Strangling weeds and kikuyu grass can grow rapidly and smother young trees.
This is part of our Papakura Stream Restoration Project which aims to restore and protect stream banks and water quality, as well as habitat for native species, through fencing (with Future Posts – recycled plastic fence posts), planting native trees, water quality monitoring, and community engagement on both public and private land.

Conservation Volunteers New Zealand is New Zealand's leading conservation volunteer organisation, founded in 2006. We offer conservation programs across New Zealand which enable volunteers to protect, preserve and restore the environment. Projects take place in urban, regional and remote areas, and include tree planting, seed collection, weed control, flora and fauna surveys, building tracks and trails, fencing, and heritage restoration. See below for details of one of our conservation projects, or search for projects near you.
