Join us at Brookby Equestrian for Plant a Tree Day 2021 in partnership with One Tree Planted.
Conservation Volunteers New Zealand (CVNZ) welcomes everyone who shares our love of the outdoors and our commitment to conserving the environment to join us for a community planting day on the Papakura Stream.
Brookby Equestrian Park lies in the Brookby Valley and is part of our Papakura Stream Restoration Project having more than 2km of the stream and its tributaries running through this land. Land development in the past century has seen most of the vegetation removed from around the stream, leading to erosion, sedimentation and farm runoff into the streams and rivers, causing a serious decline in water quality. The waterways on this and other poperties on the stream are now being fenced and replanted. The plants will, over time improve the water quality by filtering runoff and sediment.
We would love for you to come out and escape from the city for the day to help restore this stream by planting up to 1,000 new native trees and shrubs to filter contaminants before they reach the waterway and provide important shade and habitat for native fauna.
The day will involve planting native trees and shrubs. Transport can be provided from our office in Eden Terrace. It promises to be a fun day and a great opportunity to get outside and give back to your local environment!
To book your spot in our transport, please phone 0800 56 76 86 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
