Periwinkle is a scrambling plant with glossy green leaves and purple flowers. It grows in dense stands in both open and shady areas, preventing native seedlings from establishing and opening up habitats so they are more vulnerable to weedy vines, grasses etc. The Town Belt is an important habitat for native wildlife such as birds and lizards - join us for a day of weeding and help to protect this valuable resource.
What to bring/wear: sturdy boots/footwear essential, long sleeves and pants, a hat. Bring a water bottle and some food.
What we provide: all tools and gloves provided as well as training and an experienced team leader. Meet us on site or get in touch to book free transport from the city centre or our office in Melrose.
So get outside and make the most of the beautiful summer weather!
