Peady Street Reserve, bordering Ballarat's most popular tourist attraction, Sovereign Hill, was once a weed infested wasteland. Beginning in 1982, the Friends Of Peady Street group, along with Mount Pleasant Primary School put in a huge effort revegetating, removing weeds and maintaining the area for a number of years. In recent times the Reserve has lain unattended, slowly succumbing to weeds such as Gorse and Periwinkle.

Conservation Volunteers Australia, together with Ballarat City Council's Engaging Communities Program are pleased to announce that further rejuvenation works are to be carried out at the site, including an upgrade of the current footpath to make access easier for prams and wheelchairs, continued weed control, planting and other maintenance.

Join us at this historic location to help us unlock the reserve's unlimited potential!
