Join us for a day helping the Stream Team, a group of a parents who, together with the Owhiro Bay School One Learning Community, restore the stream behind Owhiro Bay School. As the only daylighted stream on the south coast and one that empties into the Taputeranga Marine Reserve it's a precious resource for the wider community as well. The area was at one time entirely covered with blackberry vines and now has a thriving native plant community. Activities may vary but are likely to incldued riparian planting releasing and weeding the current plants as well as some litter collection.

What to wear/bring: sturdy boots or gumboots, long sleeves and pants, a hat/beanie, a drink bottle and some food.

What we provide: gloves, tools, high-vis vests, an experienced team leader, training. Get in touch to book a free pick-up from Wellington cbd.

This project starts at 9 and will finish mid-afternoon.
