Join us for a day helping the Stream Team, a group of a parents who, together with the students and teachers of Owhiro Bay School are restoring their lcoal stream. As the only daylighted stream on the south coast and one that empties into the Taputeranga Marine Reserve it's a precious resource for the wider community as well. The area was at one time entirely covered with blackberry vines and now has a thriving native plant community. Activities may vary but are likely to included riparian planting releasing and weeding the current plants as well as some litter collection.
We provide: an experienced team leader, tools, gloves, health and safety management and training.
What to wear/bring: sturdy boots, long sleeves and pants, a hat/beanie, waterproof jacket, a reuseable water bottle and some snacks.
We will be following the advice from government and local council on all Covid-19 restrictions.
