Do your bit for the International Year of the Reef!
ReefBlitz is an annual event held in October that lets you contribute to a snapshot of catchment and reef health, and get involved in practical actions to help look after Queensland's reefs.
ReefBlitz is an annual event that brings together multiple citizen science programs to help Queensland communities collect a snapshot of information relevant to reef health. 2018 is International Year of the Reef, a significant time for us to educate, celebrate and motivate more people to contribute to healthy reefs through citizen science and local action. All Research will feed into national datasets on marine debris and effective enforcement of the plastic bag ban. There are a range of opportunities for your organisation to support community data collection, education and on-ground restoration as part of ReefBlitz 2018.
Cape Pallarenda is an important historical and ecological site for Townsville – it combines Indigenous, military, migrant, and environmental history. CVA’s Townsville office is located in the Cape Pallarenda Conservation Park and wetland systems of Cape Pallarenda. CVA welcomes employees to undertake activities within this area, which we manage. The key habitat restoration activities that employees may assist with across the site include weed removal, trail development and seed collection.
