Oashore is a large farm that overlooks beautiful, windswept Birdlings Flat on the road to Banks Peninsula. This is an area with important ecological values, both in terms of flora and fauna. The farm owner and managers in conjunction with local volunteers are aiming to allow the land to regenerate back into native bush through a combination of replanting and light grazing.
CVNZ volunteers will be assisting the local farm managers with maintenance of plantings on the farm and other tasks related to the regeneration of native coastal shrubs and plants. We also help with control of horned poppy, an invasive species, on the beach.
Come for part or all of the day and join our international volunteers! Tools and gloves supplied. Bring drinking water, lunch and snacks, and wear sturdy footwear.
Note: we can provide transport, but spaces are limited, so get in touch to book your seat!
