Oaky Creek, an area of beautiful natural bushland, is going through some rehabilitation works and we need your help! Lend a hand and give back to your local environment by helping us plant natives along the creek line and maintain these plantings, making a difference for future generations.
By helping to plant natives at Oaky Creek you are ensuring a healthier ecosystem with improved water quality entering the Great Barrier Reef. More native plants and fewer invasive weeds will encourage native wildlife to make Oaky Creek their home.
As well as significant environmental benefits you will contribute to, you will also gain useful skills and training, and meet like-minded people.
Volunteers need to bring and wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, boots or sturdy shoes, and a broad-brimmed hat. It is also recommended that volunteers bring and use sun-screen (30+) and tropical-strength insect repellent.
Hope to see you there!
