Volunteers will be assisting NSW National Parks to preserve the Newcastle Doubletail Orchid.
This orchid is listed as vulnerable and is only found in Newcastle, Port Stephens and Central Coast areas.
Come and enjoy the fantastic forest in Glenrock State Conservation Area in the heart of Newcastle while working to improve the habitat of this rare ground orchid.
Activities will include light weed control to stop the orchids being overgrown.
There is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the forest. You may even get to see the resident Powerful Owls!
Local volunteers picked up from Broadmeadow Station each day at 8am and return by 4pm latest.
