The Native Fish Recovery Plan has a clear aim; to restore native fish populations and waterway health in the Central Murray system in northern Victoria. Our magnificent river and wetland system in Northern Victoria is home to iconic species like the Murray Cod and the Golden Perch or Yellow Belly.
Revegetation alongside waterways is a crucial component of river health and on this project you will get to plant an array of tree and understorey species that supports biodiversity and filters comtaminants before they get to our waterways. Prior to planting, teams will also mark out the planting sites along the creek and spray & remove weeds in readiness for planting. All aspects of this project lead to a healthier habitat for native fish populations in a beautiful part of Northern Victoria. The project will take place in Koroop which is about an hour and a half from Bendigo.
