Our Muswellbrook team has been tasked with caring for the Muswellbrook Shire Urban Parks this year by maintaining and completing new tree plantings, collecting seed, providing habitat protection and engaging the community in environmental opportunities in our local parks. Hyde Park in Denman acts as a wetland for the meandering creek that flows through the town. With mature trees already boasting havens for wildlife with numerous hollows for our native fauna, and plenty of room for growth of new plantings the park is a canvas for our teams to conserve Denman's urban environment.
In addition to caring for the parks and other areas within Denman, teams will have the opportunity to engage with the local communtiy, visit nearby sites for bushwalking, wildlife surveys and environmental educational talks.
Our teams will begin on the 1st of November - 3rd of November hosting international volunteers as well as a local disabiled group on the 1st to integrate these groups with any local volunteers that wish to attend.
Our activities will promote staying active, enjoying the outdoors and taking a new approach to appreciating the local enviornment in the Muswellbrook Shire.
We will meet in Muswellbrook for pick up in the morning, transport will be provided on all projects to site and home in the afternoon. Participants must wear long pants and long sleeved shirt, sturdy, enclosed shoes, broad brimmed hat. Bring morning tea, lunch and a bottle of water with you.
Come along and join our dynamic team today!
