During this project volunteers will be teaming up with The Mulch Pit Community Garden based at Nightcliff, in the suburbs of Darwin. The Mulch Pit is a place for gowing food and fun! It has a mixture of individual plots and communal areas. Volunteers will help to support the garden group by maintaining the communal areas.
The Mulch Pit is a permaculture garden, which means three simple things; care for the earth, care for people and enough for all- all of which ties into Conservation Volunteers values.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about tropical fruits and vegetables and the climatic saesons of the Top End. We hope that by joining us on this project you will gain a lot of insight into growing your own produce and the benefits of doing so.
