At Conservation Volunteers NZ, we spend many days in the community each month helping local restoration groups such as the Mt Vic Community Group with whatever tasks they need help with - usually keeping on top of pesky weeds such as Tradescantia! The Town Belt is a valuable resouce as it provides significant habitat for native wildlife spilling over from Zealandia. Enjoy a day working in the forest while listening to bird song, meet people from your local community and make a valuable difference to the environment.
No experience is neccessary as training is provided. We also provide gloves, tools as well as free transport to and from the project if needed.
What to bring/wear: sturdy boots, long sleeves and pants, waterproof jacket and a hat. Bring a water bottle and some food.
What we provide: all tools and gloves provided as well as training and an experienced team leader. Free transport options available (seats are limited!) - get in touch to book a seat.

Conservation Volunteers New Zealand is New Zealand's leading conservation volunteer organisation, founded in 2006. We offer conservation programs across New Zealand which enable volunteers to protect, preserve and restore the environment. Projects take place in urban, regional and remote areas, and include tree planting, seed collection, weed control, flora and fauna surveys, building tracks and trails, fencing, and heritage restoration.
