This September we invite you to join us on a truly Australian outback road trip to the beautiful Pilbara where we will be assisting DBCA with conservation activities in Millstream Chichester National Park!
Activities will include floating around in the beautiful spring water of Jirndawurrunha pool and channels helping to scoop up floating lilly pads. We will also be assisting DBCA with track maintenance, fencing, weed removal and pruning around the park as well as a little busy bee activity at the DBCA homestead.
Volunteer's will be leaving Perth on Saturday the 14th of September on our CVA Coaster Bus where we will head to Wooramel Station to camp out for the night! Then we will make our way up to Karratha for another overnight camp before heading into Millstream on the morning of the 16th. During our time in Millstream we will be staying at the DBCA headquaters in the heart of the park where volunteers will have their own single rooms and shared kitchen space. We will depart Millstream on the 25th and arrive back in Perth on the afternoon of the 27th.
IMPORTANT: Project days are long and the work is physical so while we welcome people from all backgrounds and age groups, this program does require volunteers with a relatively high level of fitness. You will be working and living in close quarters with your team so volunteers must be able to work well with other team members.
If you are over 70 years of age and wish to apply we would love to have you! Due to the settings on our database, you may not be able to apply online as we require an additional health declaration form. In this case, please contact the Perth office for more information and one of our friendly staff will assist you in completing your booking.
This project will cost $598 which you will be required to pay when you make your booking. This will cover the cost of your transport, accomodation and food for the full 14 days.
