The McMinns Lagoon Recreation Reserve is situated on 41 hectares of unspoilt wetland. It is a natural jewel within Litchfield Shire Council, a short 40 minute drive from Darwin CBD. The Reserve contains one of the largest varieties of flora and fauna habitats in the Northern Territory. It is neighboured by rural properties and winding roads of McMinns Lagoon area. It offers nature enthusiasts and bird watchers alike a wide spectrum of bird life and butterfly activity all year round.
Supporting the McMinns Lagoon Reserve Association, volunteers who join this project will be undertaking We will be conducting bird surveys from a set species list around the borders of the lagoon. No prior experience needed for this project, you will learn from our team leader. Field guides and binoculars provided.
