Join Conservation Volunteers Australia as we head to Bucasia to clean up our local beach, conduct a marine debris survey, and raise community awareness of the types of rubbish leaving our hands and entering the marine environment.
Marine debris poses a threat to people, kills marine life and damages or alters habitats, reduces navigation safety, and can have substantial economic impacts on local communities
Volunteers will participate in a beach clean-up before sorting and recording the quantities in an attempt to determine the sources of rubbish most prominent along our coastline.
Volunteers need wear sun safe clothing, close-toed shoes, a hat and a water bottle. It is also recommended that volunteers bring and use sun-screen (30+) and tropical-strength insect repellent
