Creatures of the Night Spotlighting Tour @ Londonderry Woodland Reserve,

Join us at one of our key sites, the Londonderry Woodland Reserve as we take a guided walk at dusk to spot the unique wildlife of the critically endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland.

After a brief introductory talk on the likely species we may encounter, we will embark on a guided evening walk through habitat that supports the unique species of the Cumberland Plain and note any significant wildlife that we spot through torchlight.

The Londonderry Woodland Reserve is a vital remnant of the critically endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland! It is very special because it is one of the only remnant areas that contains mature native vegetation and large trees, which provide habitat for local wildlife. Rickaby’s Creek also runs through the reserve which provides a migration corridor for wildlife, as it links pockets of Cumberland Plain Woodland. Visiting the reserve lets you have the closest experience to what the Cumberland Plain looked like before European settlement.

Meet at Penrith Station at 5:30pm or meet us on site at 6pm. Finish on site at 8pm, with a drop off to Penrith station at 8.15pm.

ESSENTIAL ITEMS: Please wear sturdy boots, long pants, a long sleeved shirt and some water. Please also dress warmly, as Western Sydney gets cold at night!
