Locals needed to bring back the bush for the birds at Plough & Harrow, Abbotsbury - Cumberland Plain Woodland Endangered Ecological Community.
This special site is within the Western Sydney Parklands and contains stands of Cumberland Plain Woodland, a critically endangered vegetation community. We are actively encouraging local residents to become involved in the protection of this precious area. Some species found here are found nowhere else in the world!
The reserve has been subjected to various impacts over the years including clearing, farming, dumping and severe weed invasion, so it is vital we take action. To help improve and conserve the area, our team will focus on tree, shrub and grass planting and the control of noxious and environmental weeds throughout the site. This project is significant in the protection of Cumberland Plain Woodland because it is estimated there is only 9% remaining.
Meet at 9am on site at car park near cafe and amenities block and finish at 3.00pm. This project has an optional pickup point at Blacktown Station. Please contact the office to reserve your spot as seats are limited.
Morning tea will be provided. Bring your own lunch and enjoy a picnic in the bush with the kangaroos!
ESSENTIAL ITEMS: Please wear sturdy boots, long pants, a long sleeved shirt and bring a hat, sunscreen and water.
If for any reason you can not make it on the day or if you are going to be late or can not find the meeting point, please contact our Team Leader, Tom on 0438 233 389. If you need any more information please email firstname.lastname@example.org or give the Western Sydney office a call on 02 4721 4625.
