Are you interested in taking action against ocean pollution? Do you want to contribute to New Zealand’s progress toward Sustainable Development Goals Reporting?
Join us for a training workshop for Litter Intelligence with Sustainable Coastlines: a citizen science platform to enable community groups to contribute to a growing national litter database by monitoring their local beaches & auditing the rubbish.
This free workshop will pass on the skills in surveying, data collection, and Health & Safety that will allow attendees to play an important part in this long-term, grassroots effort. Come along to learn how to set up & run a survey, sort & record rubbish in an audit, and add your data into the national database & solutions platform.
Rough Itinerary:
11 am – 12 pm Introduction to Litter Intelligence and Project Overview, plus Health & Safety,
12 – 1 pm Litter Survey at the Estuary
1 – 2 pm Methodology & Technology Overview
2 – 3 pm Litter Audit

Registrations are essential. Please note that due to Level 2 restrictions in Christchurch, numbers for this event are limited to 10 volunteers, and we are able to provide hot drinks but you will need to bring your own lunch and snacks for the day. We will be adhering to social distancing and hygiene guidelines for the day.
