Lake Connewarre is a large shallow (average depth 100cm) estuarine wetland complex located in the lower reaches of the Barwon River, with a variety of swamps, marshes, lakes and river areas. Listed as a wetland of international significance under the RAMSAR convention, it is home to a number of endangered migratory bird species.

In January of 2019 a fire devastated a large section of the Reserve, reducing native vegetation and opening up opportunity for invasive species to take hold.

Join us as we help reduce the impact of weed species such as Serrated Tussock from taking over significant marshland.

We will provide transport from South Geelong, departing at 8.00am and returning around 4pm. Or if you live local you can meet on-site by prior arrangement.
