The Hunter Wetlands area is home to some of the most significant wetlands in the state including Ramsar sites and regionally significant river bank zones. This project will see areas of the Kooragang Wetlands rehabilitated through planting of trees, shrubs and grasses as well as removal of threatening weed species. Restoring this important habitat, home to many species including migratory birds, will enhance the biodiversity of the Hunter Estuary. Volunteers can join for a few days or or single day bookings are also available.
