On this project day we’ll keep up the planting efforts and conduct important maintenance efforts. With 100mm of rain over Christmas, the plants, as well as the weeds are growing fast. The trees we’re planting and maintaining will create homes and food sources for Koalas. Helping the native plants establish, whilst preventing weeds like lantana and groundsel, hence improving the habitat functionally for our beautiful native wildlife.

This project is a great way to help improve the environment of South – East Queensland.  Through careful management and hard work Woodstock will become a haven for animals including the Koala and a landscape resilient to environmental challenges such as bushfires.  In addition, joining Conservation Volunteers is a great way to gain hands on skills for a career in conservation and meet like-minded people all striving to make a difference.

The project has two meeting points. Volunteers requiring transport must meet at 333 Bennetts Road @ 7:50am. Returning @ ~3:30pm. Volunteers with own transport can meet us at the project site @ 9:15am (front gate at 231 Plunkett Street, Tamborine)
