Help a Koala out with CVA at "Wallaroo," a stunning 38 hectare Reserve managed by the Cumberland Land Conservancy located in the Mulgoa Koala and Cumberland Conservation Corridors. The reserve protects Critically Endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland and Endangered River-flat Eucalypt Forest, as well as six species of endangered wildlife - including koalas.
Due to many years of disturbance as a former grazing property, the biodiversity of the reserve is under threat from exotic vegetation as well as feral animals. To assist the local plant and wildlife communities, we are working together to create and enhance habitat and biodiveritiy through a number of conservation activities.
Join CVA and help us to restore and connect important koala habitat at this property by planting native vegetation species to benefit koalas! We will be planting a mixture of koala food trees, habitat species and native understory species to prevent weeds such as lantana from establishing which inhibits koala movement between trees.
This project is a great way to network and gain hands on skills for a career in conservation while making a real difference to our environment.
Pick-up at 8:30 am Penrith Station North or 9.00am if meeting on site. Finishing at 2:00 pm, for drop off back to Penrith Station around 2:30 pm.
