ITINERARY
Day 1
Depart Adelaide at 6.30am- board the 9am Sealink Ferry for a scenic 45 minute crossing, known as the Backstairs Passage to Penneshaw and Kangaroo Island. Mid-morning walk along the Iron Hill Cove Hike in the Baudin Conservation Park.

In the afternoon we head to Seal Bay, it is home to the third largest population of the world’s rarest marine mammals – the Australian Sea Lion. Here we walk down onto the beach and witness sea lions in their natural habitat providing an amazing experience. Settle into our accommodation later in the day.

Day 2
After breakfast we take a short morning drive to beautiful Hanson Bay. Here we walk one-way to Kelly Hill Caves. This is one of the island’s best known walks which pass through pink gum woodlands, banksia heath, mallee and coastal heath, past freshwater lagoons and over dunes that provide vistas inland and along the coast. We enjoy lunch on the trail.

In the afternoon we wander around the fabulous formations of Admirals Arch, home to a thriving colony of New Zealand and Australian Fur Seal. This easy boardwalk trail offers amazing coastal views.

Day 3
Today we walk a section of the newly opened Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail from Snake Lagoon to Cape du Couedic. This is a spectacular walk, exposed to the coastal conditions and has large sections of beach walking.  The walk finishes at our accommodation – the Cape Du Couedic lighthouse.

After our walk we visit the magnificent and iconic Remarkable Rocks. The wind-sculpted rocks can be seen as artworks in progress, a 500 million year old story of change!

Day 4
Morning walk to the Weirs Cove – one of the most spectacular lookouts on the island.  We then head to the Rocky River trail where you have the chance to glimpse platypus in their natural surrounds. We relax and enjoy lunch on this walk. This trail is spectacular in the spring and laden with wildflowers.

Day 5
We take a morning ferry trip and onto our last walk for the tour, along a stunning section of the Deep Creek Conservation Park. The views overlooking the Southern Ocean, the park is the largest remaining block of wildlife habitat on the Fleurieu Peninsula and is home to an array of native wildlife such as western grey kangaroos, short-beaked echidnas or some of the 100 bird species that can easily be heard or spotted when walking. Approximate return time to Adelaide airport is 5:00pm.
