The Brisbane Ranges National Park is some of Victoria's richest wildflower habitat. Set in a low range of mountains dissected by rocky gullies, the unusual geology of the Brisbane Ranges National Park has preserved plants that have long since vanished from other parts of the region.
Our volunteers will be heading out to Jolly's Reserve, adjacent to the Brisbane Ranges National Park, to assist with removing Boneseed - one of Australia's most invasive weeds, and a weed of National significance. Now is the perfect time to remove Boneseed as it is easily identifiable due to it's flowers, and it has not yet dropped seeds.
Join us for a great day out learning weed ID skills, helping to protect this unique spot, meeting new people and breathing in the fresh air. The many varieties of wildflowers will hopefully povide a great display of colour!
We will provide transport from South Geelong each day, departing at 8.15am and returning around 4pm. Or if you live local you can meet on-site by prior arrangement.
