With the spread of urbanisation and loss of natural habitat, wildlife corridors are becoming increasingly fragmented. Jane Brook is an example of this. The native vegetation in the upper catchment is in tact but below the Darling Scarp, the vegetation along the waterway is scarce. The area is fed primarily by surface runoff so native vegetation buffers along the water system is important to filter the water before it enters the waterway.
Join us at this beautiful location in the hills as we assist the City of Swan and the Jane Brook Community Association to remove invasive woody weeds and plant native seedlings. This will increase the native habitat for the local wildlife and improve the water quality running through the catchment.
